In order to debug a scrolling problem in the Windows version of our Encyclopedia, we had to keep highlighting the text with the mouse until it crashed. Rather than sitting and holding the mouse button down for several minutes, the weight of the hammer did the job for us. Two-pound hammers are not normally part of the debugging toolkit.
